The law concerning the use of child car seats changed in September 2006. Every child that travels in your car must have the appropriate car seat or booster seat until they reach either 135 cm in height or 12 years of age.
There are four main types of child restraint:
Some manufacturers offer combination seats.
* Rear facing car seats should not be used in the front seat if a passenger airbag is fitted.
Remember not all seats are suitable for all cars, check with the manufacturer before you buy your seat.
Not all cars can accommodate isofix seats. So if you are likely to change your car or swap the seat between cars, then go for a non isofix seat.
